A Trust Officer Connecting Clients and Giving Back
To say that Charles Johnson knows estate and financial planning is an understatement. As a trust officer he has been serving trust clients for 46 years and he's still going strong. He's been with InvesTrust N.A. in Oklahoma City, Okla., since October 1997 and is vice president of investment management.
Over the years, Mr. Johnson has brought numerous clients to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Several have established donor designated funds that allow them to designate at the time of the gift a charity or charities that will benefit from the fund. All gifts to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation provide the maximum tax benefits available. Donor designated funds are just one of several fund options the Oklahoma City Community Foundation offers. Find out more here.
"The Oklahoma City Community Foundation provides a desperately needed service to a wide range of charities and individuals," Johnson says. "Seeing it develop over the decades has been very satisfying in the way needs are identified and serviced."
Mr. Johnson's connection with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation started in 1970 when he was with Liberty Bank. He was in the bank's trust department for 27 years and he remembers the founding of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation by John E. Kirkpatrick and other community leaders.
In addition to being professionally connected, Mr. Johnson has contributed to the general scholarship fund by making a gift from his IRA after the recent permanent extension of the IRA charitable rollover. Find out how the Oklahoma City Community Foundation can work with you and your clients age 70½ and older who are interested in making a gift from their IRAs here.
When asked about why it's important to work with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, Mr. Johnson responded, "There is no other organization in Oklahoma which covers such a broad range of activities and charities. The reputation of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is stellar, the board is very qualified and active and the staff is first-rate with a great depth of experience."
